Job Summary

Flashnet Technologies Ltd is looking for a proactive and experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and user accounts.
• Monitor system performance and ensure server uptime and reliability.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage file servers, storage systems, and network services.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
• Troubleshoot server, operating system, and application-related issues.
• Implement and maintain system security, antivirus, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Support Microsoft 365, email systems, and cloud services.
• Maintain system documentation and IT asset records.
• Work closely with network and support teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise IT, ISP, or Managed IT Services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of backup solutions, storage systems, and disaster recovery.
• Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in English and Swahili.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection solutions.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, or similar.
• Microsoft, VMware, Linux, or Azure certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, VCP, RHCSA, AZ-104) will be an added advantage.
